Accomplishments for 2015-2016
- Endorsed, supported, and elected education friendly Board of Supervisor Ryan Zehr in the Ridgeway District
- Maintained regular conversations about member issues with Dr. Cotton
- Addressed the Henry County School Board at evening meetings and day meetings through the summer
- Won an anti-bullying policy including teachers in the HCPS policy manual
- Reported to the members on conversations with Dr. Cotton and the School Board
- Presented training at the HCPS Teaching and Learning Conference on ESSA and Controlling your building climate
- Sent a cadres of HCEA members to NEA Campaign and Launch Training
- Frequently met with the Board of Supervisors and addressed them about funding for HCPS
- Interviewed and reported results of the interviews for those running for Board of Supervisors and HCPS School Board
- Attended lobby day in Richmond
- Wrote members of the General Assembly
- Wrote letters to the editor
- Met monthly with association representatives
- Served new teachers breakfast and welcomed them to HCPS
- Awarded National Board Certified Teachers pins at Convocation and the Spring Teaching and Learning Conference
- Organized around duty-free lunch for Middle School teachers
- Maintained bulletin boards for HCEA in every school in the county
- Attended Piedmont UniServ Meetings
- Attended VEA Board meetings
- Attended PEAR-PAC Meetings and funded education friendly candidates for election
- Counseled members about issues
- Advocated for members and students
- Informed members about NEA/VEA activities
- Attended the VEA Convention to help establish the political agenda for next year

- Worked to strengthen our relationship with the superintendent, school board office staff, principals, and school board members
- Represented HCEA at Teacher of the Year and at HCPS Retirement Dinner
- Hosted a Retirement and Membership Celebration for HCEA members
- Aided individual members with member concerns
